FAQ

Common questions.

Do I need a finished script to apply?

+
No. You can submit at any stage — a logline, a treatment, or a completed draft. Our development team works with you wherever you are in the process.

Is it free to submit?

+
Initial submissions and evaluations are free. If your script is selected for our Development Track, program fees apply — but scholarships and sponsored seats are available for qualifying writers.

Who owns the IP?

+
You do. Writables never takes ownership of your work. We operate on a licensing and commission model — you retain all rights to your intellectual property at every stage.

Can I write in Arabic?

+
Absolutely. We accept scripts in Arabic, English, or bilingual formats. Our consultants work in both languages, and we provide translation support for pitches to international markets.

How long does the development process take?

+
It depends on the project. A typical development cycle from first draft to pitch-ready is 8–16 weeks, depending on the script's complexity and the writer's availability. Some projects move faster.
